Torus
Transformative triptych
In Stefano Russo’s work, the torus takes on the role of an archetypal form, a matrix of flow, energy and transformation. A primary geometry that, moving across the different scales of existence, becomes a device for questioning the tensions of the present.
Made of Raku ceramic, the triptych stages a progressive alteration of form: fractures, oxidations and metallic surfaces bring the element of instability into geometric perfection.
The unpredictable traces produced by the Raku process record a unique metamorphosis, revealing matter as a field of tension between order and entropy, permanence and change.
