“Anastasis”

From the Greek anástasis, meaning “rebirth”, the work reflects on the invisible bond that connects all forms of life and on the continuous transformation of matter. Through the action of fire, both a symbol of destruction and regeneration, Anastasis explores the fragile balance between loss and renewal.

The burned surfaces preserve traces of wounds and resilience; fractures do not mark an ending but become opportunities for new connections. The work refers to the wildfires that devastate forests and ecosystems, often caused by the exploitation of natural resources. Small animals cast in charred bronze bear witness to the price paid by nature and its creatures.

Born from Stefano Russo’s vision, the artwork presents itself as a tool for awareness, inviting viewers to recognize the interdependence between humanity, the environment, and consciousness. The figure of the monkey, evolving through form and color, becomes a metaphor for a journey from darkness to light, a symbol of transformation and inner awakening.
